About Us:

Quality... Innovation... Caring...
Quality, Innovation, and caring sum up the service the Lifeline Ambulance Service, Inc. provides.  From caring for the infant in an isolette or the adult on an intra-aortic balloon pump to routine transports or emergency calls, Lifeline offers quality care to every individual.
.
Staffed by certified healthcare professionals twenty-four hours a day, we are there when you need us.  The level of medical care we provide is based upon aggressive statewide protocols developed by our Medical Control Board.  These aggressive protocols ensure quality care for all our patients.
.
As we are frequently asked to test new products, Lifeline is able to offer innovative state-of-the-art equipment on all our specialized vehicles.  This medical care is only matched by our personable interest in every patient, family, and facility we serve.

Who We Are
Background
Headquartered in Christiansburg, Virginia (USA), Lifeline has grown from a regional ambulance service to Virginia's largest private ambulance provider.  We have been successful because we have maintained our core beliefs:  extraordinary patient care, customer service, and management.
Experience
When you call Lifeline, you are calling a company with providers that have an enormous amount of experience not only in Emergency Medical Services (EMS), but also in business, hospital healthcare, customer service, insurance, quality control, and education.
Technology
Lifeline utilizes advanced technology in all areas - from the invasive and non-invasive equipment we use in the field to our centralized computer-aided dispatch system.  We integrate this technology with the human side of patient care.  We go to great lengths to further our position to not only stay on the cutting edge of patient care and transport, but to develop it.
Critical Care / Specialized Care
In addition to providing the best Advanced Life Support (ALS) care, we also have a fleet of Specialized Life Support (SLS) ambulances certified on all levels - Adult, Pediatric, and Neonatal.  To staff these vehicles, we have the largest number of Critical Care Paramedics in the state.  Critical Care certification teaches our experienced paramedics to utilize advanced equipment such as Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps, ventilators, invasive monitoring devices and lines, and other such equipment found in intensive and critical care settings.
Accommodating
We place great importance on our customers' needs and are able to accommodate most special requirements or circumstances - whether it is specialized equipment or assisting a patient during a doctor's visit.  In addition to patient transports, Lifeline is available for first aid and special event stand-bys.  We can also provide in-service training for your facility or group.
Dedication
Lifeline providers are dedicated to the field of EMS.  The majority of our employees also volunteer with their local rescue squads.  Lifeline encourages volunteerism because the spirit of giving cultivates care and customer service in our staff

Corporate History
Lifeline Ambulance began operations in July of 1987 in Blacksburg, Virginia (USA).  The company had one basic life support ambulance and operated twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week with only a handful of part-time Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT's).  Within a year, the company was licensed at the Advanced Life Support (ALS) level with three ambulances, and though still based in Blacksburg, had begun serving several surrounding counties.
.
Today, Lifeline Ambulance operates in across the Commonwealth of Virginia and employs over 250 people.  The company maintains headquarters in Christiansburg and Richmond with each performing dispatch, billing, and administrative functions.
.
Our staff functions at the Paramedic level and provides Critical Care Paramedics to ensure a broad and complete range of services to our customers.  The company is licensed by the Virginia Department of Health to operate vehicles at the Specialized Life Support (SLS) level, the highest level of service recognized by the state.
